The autoclave is loaded/unloaded by mechanized trolley. All side autoclaves are heated by heating manifolds located outside either by thermic fluid or by steam heating. A skid mounted compact type vacuum pumping system consists of combination of Roots and Rotary pumps with main and intermediate condensers used to create vacuum in the autoclave. The plant is operated by dedicated DCS/PLC (computerized) for process optimization to operate and control the operation.
Vacuum autoclaving, also known as pre-vacuum autoclaving or sterilizing, is more suited where air cannot be easily removed from sterilization media. This may include large or porous items such as animal cages and bedding sterilization as well as wrapped surgical kits.
The process is carried out in an autoclave with the evaporator using the advance vapour phase drying process sequence i.e heating up phase with intermediate pressure lowering phase, pressure reduction phase, fine vacuum phase and aeration.
